3 Ways to Teach Your Children About Money - At Any Age

Oppenheimer Funds created a great chart to breakdown different ways to talk to your kids about money and get them involved in your family's financial planning from preschool through high school. The surveys that they conducted showed that people often didn't speak with their children about money for many reasons: "They'll discuss it in the wrong company", "If they know how much we have it will hinder their ambitions", "They'll worry about our situation", "Our parents never discussed it with us,", etc. But, studies have shown that children who are given these tools at a young age are better equipped to budget and save as adults, and avoid common pitfalls associated with a lack of financial literacy, such as, racking up credit card debt and not having enough savings for emergencies or retirement.
